Apartment Review for Legacy At Fort Clarke - Gainesville, FL

I really don't understand these negative reviews, unless they are written by competing apartment managers trying to undermine their competition. NONE of the complaints in these reviews have applied to me and I've lived in 2 different apts in this complex over 5 1/2 years. It's the best apartment I've ever lived in. There are 2 inspections a year- one for general maintenance and one for fire equipment and they give plenty of notice before they come in. Never a problem with repairs. If I call after hours, someone comes the next day. I asked them to repair some of the peeling edges of my kitchen cabinets and they replaced all the doors. I asked if they could tune up the washing machine since it was squeaking and I got a brand new washer. Never a problem with the pool-I've never see it dirty and I've never seen abandoned toys. It is often filled with loud kids, but this IS a family complex, not a student complex. If that bothers you, don't live near the pool or the playground. Expect to see kids, toys and have some noise. That comes with being a family neighborhood. A good sign of a well-managed place is long-term residents and I know of at least 8 families who have lived here at least 5 years each. One neighbor lived here for 8 years and recently moved out to a new home, hassle-free. Another neighbor has lived here 4+ years and is moving out to her new home, also hassle-free. The complaints about the gates (slow to open OR broken and standing open) will happen in any gated community. The Paddock Club next door has TWO gates you have to get through and they are SO slow that firetrucks couldn't get through to save a burning building and 16 residents lost everything. The lawns and gardens are well-kept. I've never seen any area overgrown and I walk the neighborhood for my exercise several times a week. When I asked if they could reduce my rent the last time I renewed, they knocked $75 off without question. I highly recommend this apartment complex -especially to families.
