If you don't like bugs, don't move here. Ants are the nice ones. The mosquitoes are kind enough to stay outside. If you have a pet, and it happens to enjoy the outdoors, be prepared for fleas. (I have a cat that likes to escape once in a while and catches fleas every time.) And then, of course there are the roaches, if you're lucky enough to get them. But now, saving the best for last... bed bugs! I may even skip a line for these amazingly terrible critters. Google bed bugs and learn what they are (I always thought it was just a saying, "don't let the bed bugs bite.") Well, they ARE real, and they really suck. I've been dealing with them for about six months now. The apartment complex has had the pest guy come out three times now and the best they can tell me is, "well, at least they're almost gone." Preparing for the pest control appointment is basically like moving. Everything out of every drawer and closet, all furniture moved around, etc. It has been a nightmare. I know at least one other unit somewhere in the complex has them (the pest guy told me during his last treatment that he was treating two apts that day), and have heard roomers that Arbor Park is known for this, has had problems in the past, etc. If i had known of this before moving, I wouldn't have chosen this complex. As for the rest of the complex, it is... fine. A bit too much dog poop for my taste, but at least the maintenance can usually fix whatever happens to break in my apt in under four tries. I would never recommend this complex to anyone and can't wait to move. |
