Apartment Review for Boardwalk Apts. - Gainesville, FL

The Boardwalk is the absoulte worst for student living. Like others have said, the units are disgusting, the floors are nasty and the ceilings all have cobbwebs and mold on them! I didn't know how bad it would have been when I resigned my lease and was PROMISED a new stove for signing.. that was Dec of 2007- it's not Dec 2008 and my stove is NOWHERE in sight! They are WAY too overpriced for what they have. The pool is small and usually closed because of the disgusting water, the grounds and unkempts and there's dead foliage and branches everywhere! My utility bill is so ridiculous, I have a one bedroom one bath and I pay at least $100 in utilities, and I normally have my ac off and I barely cook hee because of the POS stove and kitchen that I have. The place is acutally VERY cramped, the carpets are nasty even though they are "shampooed," and they walls are so thin you can hear the tv in the apt next to you. The office staff is possibly the worst! They don't try to help you, the property manager doesn't respond or try to help you and the time it takes for them to get back to you is ridiculous! I was awaken one rainy morning, while in bed, by water dripping on my face. When I looked up, there was a leak in my celing right above mmy expensive bed! I went over to the front office to report it and all they did was put in a work order- I oculd have done that from my apartment. I had to REQUEST the maintance guys come over and move my bed and put buckets in my room. The worst part is that the buckets had grime and mold in it-w hat kind of service is that? And don't ever think this place is safe. I live in the building with the "courtesy cop" and he works the NIGHT shift so he's never at home in the night. When I first moved in there was another sheriff that lived here and when she moved out it took them about 5 months to find a replacement for this hellhole. The other day, I was walking to the bus stop and sw 3 police cars, then someone came up and asked if I had seen a 2 year old girl- this was a 8 am mind you. I don't know what kind of safety that is. Don't waste your time and you money living here. The only parking spots your can find is in the visitor parking spots and that's probably the sketchiest area of the whole place! It's atrocious and disgusting and should infact be shut down!
