Apartment Review
Courtyards: Good & Bad....

The courtyards is good and bad, depending on what you can tolerate. It has a great location and is better than the dorms; however, the office staff is often incompetent, the parking is horrendous, and the rooms are tiny with paper thin walls. Although, the living space is large, in the townhouse units.

Location: Great, so close to UF. Safe compared to many other Gainesville apartments (gated door).

Maintence: I loved the maintence when i lived there. I happened to have a lot of problems with my apartment (because I lived there for 3 years) , but maintence would always come really quickly and be very friendly and helpful. Also they keep the outside looking fairly nice.

Parking: Although you get a spot close to UF, its horrible. You can never find a spot and visitor parking sucks. Sucks if you wanna have some friends over to visit. Never enough parking and the spaces are too small. I know numerous people who have had thier cars hit in the parking lot.

Noise: These apartments are definitely noisey. The walls are paper thin, so you'll always hear your neighbors and roomates. However, the place is social, and i think thats a good thing for being in college. Personally I prefer some noise over absolutely nothing going on.

Space/Room Size: The rooms here are small. And I mean really small. But its college, so I don't think you need a huge room. The rooms are livable, but defintely NOT comfortable. The downstairs (in the townhouse) is really large and nice. The living room furniture sucks and the couch is more like a brick. But the kitchen is really large and has plenty of cabinent space to fit your food.

Roomates/Roommate matching: The roomate matching isn't exactly great. They pride themselves in taking all this time for roommate matching, and i have to say, I lucked out the 3 years i lived there and had great roomates. But i had friends who had some horrible/crazy roomates.

Staff: Overall, most of the Trimark office workers are fairly incomptent, however, a few of them are very nice and very helpful.

Utilities: Don't believe that the utitlies are completely included. They are included, but everyone AlWAYS goes over their 30 per person cap. No matter what you keep your air at and how much you conserve, we always went over approximately 15 bucks a month. Just something to consider.

Overall: Its a tough call. I had a great time living here. Its really convienient to walk to class and not have to take the bus. Although I had my share of problems. You can find some really nice places for the same amount of money, but you have to move out a bit further. It all depends on whats important to you!
