Apartment Review for The Courtyards - Gainesville, FL

First, the location is amazing. It may be worth the money, but you have to consider the following:

Age of Apartments...These apartments are 30 years old and it may not show right away. The maintenence does A LOT of minor renovations like wall painting and carpet cleaning, including repainting and pressure cleaning the courtyard. However when you live here for a while, you start to notice how crappy everything is. If you want to live in your apartment, you'll need actual furniture. My friend's coffee table collapsed and the couch is an old stiff piece of shit. I honestly don't know where they found such cheap furniture.

Maintenence...The maintenence is friendly and attentive, but no problems are completely fixed. They are often poorly patched and ignored. It's convenient that you submit work requests online, but I know a friend who had holes in her ceilings that leaked.

Parking...PARKING FUCKING SUCKS. The Courtyards does NOTHING to prevent you and your friends from getting towed. I have probably driven my friends, visitors and roommates 10+ times to Ultimate (Scamming) Towing. Those retard carnies will tow you from spots that seem fine. In fact the city has been fighting Trimark about their way of marking the parking spots for years. I'm serious. The spaces are TINY and my car has numerous scratches. Instead of expanding the parking lot, they used the room to make reserved parking. So for $50 a month you actually wont get your car fucked up.

Money....Basically for me it wasn't worth the money. You have to factor in $20 extra a month because everyone goes over their electricity. Even in November when it was 50-75 degrees and we didnt use the air conditioner ONCE, we got a 22 dollar bill per person (5 people).
