Apartment Review for Gainsville Place - Gainesville, FL

I live in a 2/2 and have for 2 years. I would stay for a third but I don't like my roommate. Th kitchen is large with lots of counterspace and a big pantry and lots of cupboards. Appliances are newer and look & work nicely. The dryer squeaks, though. The bedroom is very spacious. I have a TON of clothes and the closet is very, very big. I have extra room and I have a shoe rack, enough clothes for 2 wardrobes, a hamper, storage bins, tons of purses, books, lots of other stuff in there. Parking is pretty amazing. I always have a spot in front of my building. Spaces are roomy so my car doesn't get door dings. Visitors never have a problem either. Location is great. You can go to the Publix on 34th (the one close to the interstate), Subway, Panera/Moe's/Coldstone, TCBY, etc. all within a couple of minutes, even when the rest of Gainesville is in rush hour traffic. There are four buses you can take. I can leave for class about 30 minutes beforehand and get there early. The 34 goes to the hub and the 35 & 36 go to Mccarty. You can walk a block or so and take the 9, too. The 36 is only a ten minute bus ride home. The place is well-lit and I feel safe. The pool is really pretty. Lots of equipment in the gym. Nice computer lab. There's a carwash area in the complex too. Trash is right in your building you don't have to walk a mile to the dumpster with your smelly garbage. The cons: maintenance responds quickly, but they have failed to fix my double-flushing toilet after 3 or 4 attempts. I have given up putting requests in. It gets loud on weekends, and sometimes weekdays, too. I've heard people having parties up til 5am... The furniture that comes with the place is really ugly. Maroon/gold/purple/blue striped... The 2/2 doesn't have a dining room table..just a breakfast bar. That gets annoying.
