Apartment Review for Lake Crossing - Gainesville, FL

Let me put it this way: when we moved in our rent was $850 and three years later it was $1110. Expect your rent to increase every yeat. Expect high GRU bills...maintenance informed us that the AC units are old and cheap and to expect high bills. They were right..our tiny apartment was more per month than our now 1700 sq. foot house. Our apartment would vibrate from the noise upstairs...if you do want to live here, pay extra for a third floor unit because you can hear EVERYTHING. They will get you when you move out...they don't care how long you have lived there...you will be responsible for everything. Supposed "dog park" is lame because dogs have to be on a leash or you will get fined. The so called "security" is nonexistent because you can walk right in to the complex even if the gate is locked...just stick your arm through the bars and turn the knob. If you want to drive in after hours, just wait for a car to open the gate because the gates stay open long enough for 10+ cars to get in. No Joke. There was always some sort of crime that we were being notified of. Cars were broken into constantly, and damage to bumpers was common. Bottom line..don't move here. We debated every year whether to move, but decided to stick it our unitl we moved into our house. Moving was just too much of a hassle to the turn around and move again.
