Apartment Review for Lakewood Villas - Gainesville, FL

The apartment is spacious, nice floor plan, has a big balcony overlooking the woods, do not hear the neighbors at all because of thick walls, the community and the management is extremely friendly. Problems started the very first week when we found flea bites on our bodies (We do not have pets!). The management team responded promptly and sprayed the apartment but it should never have happened. Then the A/C unit leaked and made the carpet and the adjacent walls wet and soggy. It was a quickly fixed. Then the kitchen countertop had leaks and the faucets and plumbing was changed. And now the worst problem ever! Ever since Christmas, the kitchen ceiling has been leaking. The master bathroom is located right above the kitchen. Every time you take a bath, it would leak from the kitchen ceiling. I called in and Maintenance fixed it the very next day. It worked fine for 1 week and started leaking again. They fixed it again, it leaked again. This has been happening for weeks and I am frustrated. Maintenance cut a huge hole in the kitchen ceiling earlier this week and fixed it. It leaked again the very next day! Maintenance was rude enough to say that since they cannot find a solution to the problem, they cannot fix it. So despite our several complaints, they have not even bothered to show up for the past few days. We have complained to the Maintenance Manager of Contemporary Management (the company that owns Lakewood).We will wait for another week and move out as the last resort. My opinion is that the apartment and the community is nice and friendly, one of the best in Gainesville as long as you do not have issues. But if you are one of the unlucky ones like us, ensure you have a backup plan or suffer!
