Apartment Review for Laurels Apartments - Gainesville, FL

Its nicer here than some other places I have lived in Gainesville, but honestly, I think I made up my mind once I saw the clubhouse. When I was given the tour of place the only part I remembered was the clubhouse. Unfortunately they only have model apartments that they allow to you look at before your move in date.

Well, when I moved in I found out my apartment was not nice like the models they show you to get you to sign their lease.

The walls had different colored spots of white and off-white, and beige paint on various parts of them all throughout my entire apartment. I knew they hadn't used the refurbishing fee from the resident before me and painted the walls freshly with the same color paint. The furniture I got in my apartment looked older and more worn out than my grandmother. I could've gotten better furniture from the GOODWILL just a short distance down the road. Anyways, it took me all semester just to get a new coffee table that had 4 working legs instead of 2 working legs.

MANAGEMENT!!!! Well gee....Do they really have a Manager because every time I have called or went in to see her I get the same answer, "The Manager is busy right now" or "The Manager just stepped out of the Office." I am busy too and I always make time to go in when the rent check is due and pay them on time.

Bottom Line --- Before you sign to live here for a year or more ask yourself this question: Am I going to be sleeping, eating, and living in the clubhouse? If the answer is NO --- Then make sure you sign a lease somewhere else besides The Laurels or you won't be happy!
