Apartment Review for Laurels Apartments - Gainesville, FL

After living at this place for three years I firmly believe it is run by the devil and an office staff of minions, whose sole purpose it is to make life miserable.

I have had nothing but problems from the day I moved in this place 3 years ago and it took them over a YEAR to "fix" some of the stuff (notice I didn't say everything was fixed, just some of it was fixed). I couldn't ever get a screen door for my sliding glass door. There are only 3 windows in the entire apartment to get sunlight in, besides the sliding door with no screen for fresh air.

Also, unless you're an incredibly noisey and nosey person, you're not going to enjoy being able to hear two different neighbors around you talking, bathing, and carrying on at all hours.

If you own rats or roaches they will love the landscaping around this apartment complex. It is made up of piles of leaves all around, unkempt shrubbery, and full gutters they never clean so they can catch the rain over your door as intended. These things are always neglected and never maintained properly.

If you feel yourself drawn to this place because it advertises great living for students in a luxury environment, don't bother. It is NOT a luxury apartment complex as it advertises, it does HOWEVER offer you outdated apartments, ugly fixtures, dirty walls, and nasty carpet at way to high of a price. It is a behind the times apartment complex.

The only thing management seems to know how to do is lie their way out of having to fix anything the right way or do something for their tenants. Anything you pay them, keep copies and records of, because apparently they're so busy they can't be bothered to remember bills you've paid, but they're not too busy to report you to the credit bureau. I come from a Military family and at this point I'd have to say I'd rather be deployed to the war than have to live here at The Laurels while trying to get an education completed at the University of Florida.

Don't make the same mistake I did and rent here at The Laurels! You have a TON of better options at more reasonable prices where you get quality for your dollar. There's really lot's more out there to choose from trust me on that and do not rent here if you want to be happy!
