Apartment Review for Melrose Apartments - Gainesville, FL

First, after living here for two years the rent increased a significant amount. GRU raised their utility prices yet melrose didnt accomodate any rent expenses towards it. Every month we have to pay an overage which shows that utilities are not included. Secondly, roommate matching here is a joke. Last but not least, my roommates toilet was tilting...come to find out the toilet has particle board under it and was rotting through the floor (we live on the third floor by the way). The maintenance staff came on a friday, took her toilet and ripped up her floor in the morning. then said they couldnt do anything about it until the following tuesday. so much for having a private bathroom...we had to share. this place is shady, not built well, and the rent is not even a fair price.
