Apartment Review for Melrose Apartments - Gainesville, FL

I live here on a 9 month lease which is convenient, as it comes furnished, and I dont have have any obligations of subleasing or the such. It's wonderful to have your own bathroom. My bed creaks and needs to be replaced, so check out your furniture before you start loading up. Any problems I had they fixed immediately, though unfortunately they were here for many things (tub not draining, sporratic ac, leaking fridge, pest conrol) but once you put in a request, they fixed it properly within a couple says. They're were flexible with rent by deferring until my financial aid came in (I paid semesterly). I recommend it if you're starting out. Don't park under the trees during summer, the acorns *will* dent your car. One broke my windshield and Melrose said it was an act of God. There is always available, close parking. I don't care if the gates are sometimes up, I hate the hassle of the slide car. I've never experiences a robbery or theft. The card key doors do make me feel safe from the drunks next door. I feel that I'm ready for no drunken neighbors, and a more intimate place (I live with three other random roommates) of my own. If you want here, I recommend a third floor in phase two, which has newer furniture and vaulted ceilings. Great place to start though.
