Apartment Review for Melrose Apartments - Gainesville, FL

I've lived at Melrose for 2 years. Last year, I had few if no qualms. My room was flooded, but it was by a plumbing company they hired, not Melrose, and they quickly took care of the problem, and the A/C from time to time has problems, but understandably. Over the summer the management changed. When I returned for my second year, things changed. The managment changed over the summer, and so did the ownership of the company. Many things I was told originally that are not mentioned in the lease, have changed. Furniture for instance. The maintenance has become terrible. You have to fear for your life on the sidewalks b/c the employees take the golf carts on joy rides and ignore the right of way that should belong to pedestrians. Finding someone at their desk in the office is impossible. They are always off talking somewhere b/c they are all under 25 and being paid under the table in free rent so that the complex pays less in taxes. I know, b/c I work for them. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE!
