Apartment Review for Santa Fe Pointe Apartments - Gainesville, FL

I am a former property manager at Santa Fe Pointe. Most of what is on this website is true. No matter what we did to try and improve security nothing worked. Part of it has to do with the residents who rent at SFP... Young immature fresh out of high school kids that dont know how to live with out their parents watching over them and people that are used to living in an unsafe neighborhood. I feel sorry for the kids that get fooled by it being so close to campus, trust be the commute is worth it. This property has had these problems since it opened in 2000. It has changed ownership/management 4 times since then. It is labeled a Black Sheep Property because no one can turn it around. Everything from background checks to upping the credit score needed to rent has been tried. If you do not want to live in a drug infested, crime stricken, slum I suggest you do not rent here. The complex is not well lit, all the doors, front and interior can be kicked in with ease, second floors can be easily broken into by the patio, you name it we saw it. One last note the poor individual that died choked to death there was no fowl play.
