Apartment Review for Spyglass Apartments - Gainesville, FL

I moved here at the beginning of the semester and first of all utilities weren't turned on like we paid them to be! The management was suppose to take care of this, and we had to move in in VERY HOT and HUMID conditions with no electricity or water. Also, we had a pool in our laundry "room" (wouldn't really call it a room, more like a closet). There is also a scary maintenance guy who we have found in our apartment "working" on the plumbing when no order was put in for it. Also, the wallpaper is peeling, holes in wall that were covered with duck tape and painted over... and tile broken in bathrooms. I spent probably 3 hours just cleaning the walls in my bathroom! It looked like it had about 15 years worth of hairspray and who knows what else coated on the already ugly looking wallpaper. Also, dont be fooled that you'll get the wallpaper you want.. you won't.. no matter how early you sign. Overall Spyglass is not too bad, but my roommates and I are looking for something LESS expensive next year. Also, the third bedroom's bathroom is about HALF of the size of the others. You can barely turn around in it, don't let them tell you otherwise. The wallpaper was NOT replaced and neither was the carpet. The walls WERE repainted... but it looks like it was just in some places where perhaps holes or discoloration was involved. But our ceiling.... is nasty looking... guess they were too lazy with re-painting hte vaulted ceiling. The microwave is about the size of your hand, don't look at fitting a regular sized plate in it. It also takes FOREVER to dry clothes, no matter how nice your dryer is, because of the venting system. (a maintenance guy even told me this)
