My list: 1. Maintenance takes several days just to come check. They fix after a couple more days, if they do at all. Our A/C was broken for 2 weeks in August/September. Also, they refuse to accept the fact that we have no hot water pressure. 2. I'll second on the noisy fan in the bathroom. Also, the pipes in the walls make horrible noises, especially at night. The building is old, so the floors like to creak... a lot. 3. Management sucks. They put notices that you are violating your rent when you obviously are not. They bitch if you have a towel from the pool on your porch for more than a couple hours. If your drapes are not perfect, they leave notes asking you to keep them "properly adjusted." They told me to put the soil for my potted plants in my house, because its not supposed to be on the porch. And if someone else's dog shits next to your front door, you're expected to clean it up. 4. Laundry facilities are always broken. Either the washers don't spin the water out, the hot water doesn't work, the dryers don't produce hot air, or everything is just all broken at the same time. Plus, there are just not enough of them. 5. The parking area is not organized, and some of the driveways near the parking spaces are not wide enough to drive through. Pot holes are plentiful, and when it rains, many parts of the asphalt are flooded. 6. The grass around the pool has been replaced with an assortment of weeds. Dead branches and palm frawns also are often occupying this area. After some (unsuccessful) painting and construction of the roof last year, there are still pieces of paint and shingles next to my patio. Also, a few weeks ago, a big piece of sheet metal flew off the roof and into the common area behind our apartment: It wasn't removed for days.
