Apartment Review for The Boardwalk - Gainesville, FL

My husband and I signed a lease on a Friday after being "pushed" into it with things like "oh, we will waive the app. fee", and all the "nice talk". But, our app. was contingent only upon us being able to get a Guarantor, and we couldn't. So, the following Monday we called them and they basically said "you're screwed and you are responsible for 85% of the entire lease." place but we wanted to back out of it before we got into something we couldnt afford. They said "oh well! We can't terminate a lease because of the Fair Housing Act". I don't know where she was born but what the hell is FAIR about that??

So anyhow, it's awful because they could have just torn the lease up since it was technically not even a whole business day since we signed it, never gave them any money, and never stepped foot into the apartment. And, they never approved us, but yet we owe them 9K??? come on! Talk about GREEDY!

So, I'm going to the attorney tomorrow to see what we can solve in this matter.

Long story short, Please Please Please don't rent from these people. They are god awful and there are much much better properties in town to choose from! You owe it to yourself to choose a good company, not Paradigm.

This has caused my hubby and I so much unneeded stress and anxiety, I hope this situation of ours will help someone else make the right decision and be smart about signing anything, especially from Paradigm.
